I love Pottery Barn Kids and all of their cutesy ideas. Their price tag, however, I usually don't love- so when I saw these super cute and totally useful Owl Bookends...

-and figured I already had everything to make them- I went for it! {I have done this before with pbk. Their style is so cute and elementary, and their materials usually basic, that sometimes it doesn't take much figuring...} Anyway- here's what I did on our icy Thursday... these will be a fun happy birthday for Violet :)

draw out basic shape according to their measurements

sew edges/wings and lightly glue pieces down

add decorative stitches {this took the longest} and stuff

add pennies for weight

hand sew closed

make a personalized tag for my girl

TA-DAA!! what a hoot :)

Seriously Jody, how do you know how to make stuff like this? I'm SO impressed. They are precious!!!
I don't think I can be friends with someone this creative? The tag on the back to Violet from you was the final straw. I mean, seriously cute!
Is there anything you can't do??? lol! Those are absolutely adorable! You definitely got double dosage of creative in your bag! Mine, lacking....lol! That is super cool!
