last week {being sick and dancing in the nutcracker}

last week was crazy.

it began like this on sunday...

poor sweet violet ended up with the stomach bug... 

i think we all had a touch of it, but she had it the worst.

if you follow me on instagram you saw those two pics... and it continued on very bad on monday. we saw the dr and they said if she became too dehydrated to take her into the ER for fluids.

so monday night she and carter spent most of the night in the ER getting the fluids... and monday morning we thought the worst was behind us...

but poor baby it continued on until thursday morning with the throw-ups. meanwhile we were missing all of the rehersals and dress rehersals for the nutcracker performance she was to be a part of that weekend. we have been rehearsing once a week since october for it. but her teacher said that if she felt well enough for any of the performances to just show up and she would walk violet through it on stage before the show. so sweet!!

so when thursday rolled around and she was holding things down and had more energy we thought she may be good to go... and on friday evening she was.

 she was still a little tired but we took it super easy and she had so much fun!! and they were THE CUTEST THINGS EVER!!! oh my goodness gracious alive were they cute!!

she and her friend sophie from class were the youngest two out there. sophie lead the line running out on tip-toe all the way across the stage with violet right behind her. there were a total of 11 angels and these two were the absolute sweetest (i'm biased but they were so adorable!!)

if you know the music to this part of the nutcracker you can only imagine how precious it was!!

there were 4 shows in total over the weekend and what a great experience it was for the girls to be on stage that much all right in a row.

 by the end they were little pros knowing what to do and where to go. and i have to say we all had lots of fun!!

they had a blast playing in the dressing room and looking at themselves and bowing in the mirror :)

we were so happy to have so many friends and family come watch! 

annika and danae, cousins who live close by, stopped in for a show :) my kids absolutely LOVE them- and aren't they just gorgeous!!

 and stormy brought her mom and grandma to watch her friend violet :) they had a great time posing with the big girls afterwards!!

 violet just loves charlotte, one of the older girls who assisted her class last year. she is so special to violet and such a sweet girl... also a wonderful dancer!

and thank you to leona and to grandma and grandpa for coming as well!! 

it was so memorable and such a fun event. i'm so thankful that violet was able to participate, feeling well enough to be there.

it was an amazing show and a wonderful way to spend a holiday weekend!
