The first being she had her first shots on Wednesday. I was nervous on the way. Carter said he felt bad because she didn't know it was going to happen. She was soooo happy in the dr's office at first... laughing and giggling. Once the shot part came she was a champ! She cried just a little bit after it pricked her and then we gave her a bottle and it was all over. We'll go back in 2 weeks for 2 more (so I shouldn't be as nervous for those!). We're spacing them out to avoid her getting sick, etc-
Second, she had her first babysitter come over! A sweet girl from our church small group, Brenna, is going to come over once a week this summer during the day to give me a little break. This week was the first time, so I stayed home and showed Brenna the ropes. Violet loved playing with her. However, she was being very fussy at naptime... I hope we didn't scare poor Brenna away! I think they will be good friends despite the crying. Brenna gave her a bottle and burped her and they watched part of Finding Nemo together! It will be great for them to get to know each other and then Carter and I can go out sometimes... imagine that: dinner... at a restaurant!!!
The crying is something we're dealing with a lot lately though... I think Violet is starting to realize that it's more fun to be awake! Duh, Mom! She wears her bags under her eyes like nobody's business! She's also started drinking more oz's so who knows... it could just be a growing girl changing. Anyhow, she's a sweetheart!
...on a side note, It's been a year on the 16th since we moved back from France. I can't believe how much has changed in such a short time. All good things and all blessings of course, but when I think about our year in Nice I can't help but get sort of "homesick". I can't wait to go back to visit and take Violet!
Au revoir mes amis!
