{little} big boy

our little guy is getting big! he's had several blog worthy firsts just lately so it's making me blog!! yey!! :)

he got to go with daddy to the mavs season opener last weekend. carter said he LOOOOVED it!! when they first walked in he was just taking it all in, looking around, etc- but as he realized he would get to see some b-ball he really got into it. at one point was yelling GOAL when the other team dunked on the end closest to them :)

these pics were from before they left, but seriously he was this wired when they got home too. it was late but he was awake the whole ride home and even after he was up in his bed he was cheering "yey"!! so fun for them!!

and speaking of beds, this morning i took the sides off of his crib!! kind of a major milestone for him!! he is so cute and feeling like such a big boy in his bed now :)

and here is what it looks like now!! 

his crib is from ikea and is very simple and perfect for him. with violet we got her the transition crib that is now a full bed in her room, but for weston we decided to go simple and then after the toddler bed plan to do an altogether different bed... maybe bunk?

 what a super proud sweetheart :)

of course his sweet sister jumped in on the action!! :) love them!

i had to keep reminding her that this is HIS bed and that you can't KICK HIM OFF to make it and straighten the blanket... etc- etc!! silly girlie!!

this was his first naptime in it. only took him about 2 hours to finally fall asleep with all his new found freedom!! he was opening his shutters, taking out books, at one point was found walking down the stairs!!! he finally got it though and tonight he went to bed easily. so proud of him!! my sweet baby boy is growing up! sigh. tear.
